Il vantaggio principale è il risparmio energetico: una plafoniera a LED consuma fino all'85% in meno rispetto alle vecchie lampadine a incandescenza. Inoltre, le plafoniere a LED offrono una durata maggiore (fino a 50.000 ore), non emettono calore eccessivo e permettono un design più sottile e moderno, perfetto per stanze con soffitti bassi dove un lampadario risulterebbe ingombrante.
Scegliere la luce giusta è meno tecnico di quanto sembri: il segreto è smettere di pensare ai Watt e iniziare a ragionare in Lumen, che sono l'unità di misura della "quantità" di luce. Per non sbagliare, la regola d'oro è moltiplicare i metri quadri della stanza per un valore (chiamato Lux) che dipende da cosa fai in quel locale: - Se è una zona dove devi vederci bene (come la cucina o lo studio), calcola circa 300 Lumen per ogni metro quadro. - Se è una zona relax (come il soggiorno o la camera), ne bastano 150-200 per metro quadro. Esempio: per un salotto di 20mq, una plafoniera da 3000-4000 Lumen è perfetta.
Non esiste una risposta univoca: la scelta migliore dipende esclusivamente dall'uso della stanza e dall'atmosfera che vuoi creare. In generale, la luce calda è perfetta per il relax, quella naturale per le attività quotidiane e quella fredda per la massima precisione e concentrazione. Per non sbagliare, molti esperti suggeriscono di mantenere una coerenza cromatica in tutta la casa (spesso intorno ai 3000K) per evitare fastidiosi stacchi visivi tra una stanza e l'altra. Un'ottima soluzione moderna sono le plafoniere a LED con CCT variabile, che permettono di cambiare tonalità tramite telecomando o app a seconda del momento della giornata.
Sì, le plafoniere a LED possono essere dimmerabili, ma è importante sapere che non tutte lo sono per impostazione predefinita. A differenza delle vecchie lampadine a incandescenza, dove bastava abbassare la tensione per ridurre la luce, i LED richiedono un'elettronica specifica per gestire la variazione di intensità. Se usi un dimmer su una plafoniera non predisposta la luce potrebbe iniziare a lampeggiare fastidiosamente, emettere un ronzio o, nei casi peggiori, la plafoniera potrebbe smettere di funzionare del tutto a causa del surriscaldamento dei componenti.
Certamente, ma è fondamentale controllare il grado di protezione IP. Per zone vicino a docce o lavandini, ti consigliamo plafoniere con grado IP44 o superiore, che garantisce protezione contro spruzzi d'acqua e umidità. Per il centro della stanza, una normale plafoniera può bastare, ma la protezione IP44 assicura una maggiore longevità del circuito LED.
L'installazione è solitamente molto semplice e veloce. La maggior parte delle nostre plafoniere include una staffa di fissaggio da avvitare al soffitto. Una volta collegati i cavi elettrici (fase, neutro e terra) ai morsetti, basta agganciare il corpo lampada alla staffa. Ti raccomandiamo sempre di staccare l'interruttore generale prima di procedere o di consultare un elettricista qualificato.
Le plafoniere a LED di alta qualità sono progettate per durare decenni con un utilizzo normale. Nelle plafoniere con LED integrato, non si sostituisce la "lampadina", ma l'intero modulo o il driver (l'alimentatore). Spesso, se la plafoniera smette di funzionare, il problema è proprio il driver, che può essere sostituito facilmente senza cambiare l'intera lampada.
